In 2002 the Ministry of Culture, through the Directorate-General of Cultural Cooperation and Communication, commissioned this work to Roberto Lopez to represent Spain in the United States on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. The work was premiered on December 5 of that same year at the Proshansky Auditorium of CUNY Graduate Center of New York, within the Conferences on Spanish Music and Architecture in the 20th century: Modernist Barcelona and the last avant-gardes. The New Generation.
The work is titled Gaudinianas in homage to the Catalan architect and consists of seven micro-sound architectures worked from the research that, same year, Roberto López conducted on timbre and texture.
